Itinerary
A Desert Weekend in Qatar
Once you've seen the museums, the reason to come back to Qatar is the desert. Two days is enough for the classic version: dune driving down to the Inland Sea, a night under canvas, and the strange eroded landscape out at Zekreet on the way home.
Day 1 · Down to the Inland Sea
Afternoon
365 Adventures – Desert Safari & Inland SeaThings to do · Mesaieed / Khor Al Adaid
A guided 4x4 run through the dunes to Khor Al Adaid, the inland sea on the Saudi border — dune driving, a swim stop, and sunset over the water.
Night
Overnight Bedouin-style desert campThings to do · Inland desert
Stay out rather than driving back: a Bedouin-style camp with dinner over a fire and the quietest sky you'll find within an hour of a capital city.
Day 2 · Zekreet on the way back
Morning
Sunset Camel Trekking (Qatar Inbound Tours)Things to do · Desert outside Doha (Sealine/Mesaieed area)
A slower start — camel trekking across the dunes at first light before the heat, then breakfast at camp.
Midday
Zekreet Film City & Ras Abrouq Mushroom RocksThings to do · Zekreet, Al Rayyan
Break the drive home at Zekreet: the abandoned film-set village and the wind-carved Mushroom Rocks out on the Ras Abrouq peninsula.
