Moscow Ballet's Swan Lake and a Bollywood concert from Anuradha Paudwal and Vinod Rathod headline Friday, the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tough 5K Challenge fill Saturday, and a new free bazaar at MIA Park plus two major exhibitions at M7 run all weekend: what's on in Doha this Friday and Saturday.
The headline event of the weekend is Moscow Ballet La Classique's full staging of Swan Lake at Al Mayassa Theatre, Qatar National Convention Centre, with an afternoon performance at 3pm that suits families and a more formal evening show at 8pm; tickets are on sale on Platinumlist. For a different night out, veteran Bollywood playback singers Anuradha Paudwal and Vinod Rathod bring decades of Hindi film songs and duets to Aspire Zone Ladies Hall, with doors at 6pm and the show starting at 7:30pm.
In the afternoon, Relay For Life returns to Aspire Academy from 3pm to 6pm: a free community walk with the Qatar Cancer Society in support of people living with cancer and in celebration of survivors. It isn't a race, so join for a lap or stay for the whole afternoon; registration is available on the Qatar Cancer Society's website for anyone who'd like to sign up in advance.
In the evening, violinist Esther Yoo joins the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Wilson Ng for Brahms Reimagined at Katara Cultural Village Opera House, pairing Brahms' Violin Concerto with Schoenberg's own orchestral arrangement of his Piano Quartet in G Minor; tickets are on Platinumlist.
For something more active, the second Tough 5K Challenge takes competitors over hills, mud and a tyre section on natural desert terrain; it's an adults-only obstacle race. Gates open at 6am and the race starts at 7:30am. It's free to enter, but registration through Q-Tickets is mandatory, places are limited and there are no race-day entries. Saturday is also the opening day of Qatar Sustainability Week, a free run of community workshops, activations and exhibits at venues across Doha that continues through to 7 November.
MIA Park launches a new weekend fixture this Friday and Saturday: a free bazaar in Zone 1 of the Museum of Islamic Art Park, where local makers sell handmade crafts, art, fashion and jewellery by the waterfront, with food stalls alongside. It's set to run most weekends through the end of December.
At M7 in Msheireb, two major exhibitions are now open. Around the World in Jewellery brings together more than 500 jewels and art objects from Qatar Museums' own collections and the Van Cleef & Arpels heritage archive, arranged around seven themes from the sea to status and ceremony, with a dedicated hands-on space for younger visitors. Alongside it, ERDEM: About Time, About Her is a retrospective of the fashion house marking its 20th anniversary, showing garments, sketches and archival material set beside pieces from the Museum of Islamic Art's collection. Both run Saturday to Thursday from 11am to 9pm and Friday from 3:30pm to 9pm, with tickets bookable through Qatar Museums.
