Angham at Al Mayassa Theatre, film music from the Qatar Philharmonic, an aquathlon through Old Doha Port and free camel racing at Al-Shahaniya: what's on in Doha this Friday and Saturday.
The big night is Angham Live in Doha: the celebrated Egyptian singer plays Al Mayassa Theatre at the Qatar National Convention Centre. In the same building, Hall 1 hosts Pranayathinal, where two-time Kerala State Film Award winner Shahabaz Aman sings ghazal, Sufi-inspired and Malayalam film songs.
For a daytime plan, Kabayan Fiesta 2.0 takes over Desert Falls Water & Adventure Park with Filipino street food, live performances and games. Sports fans can catch the opening day of the Qatar Open Taekwondo Championship G1 at Lusail Sports Arena, which runs until Monday 19 October.
Early risers can watch, or take part in, the QTRI Old Doha Port Aquathlon, a swim-and-run race through the port that doubles as the National Aquathlon Championship. It's free to enter, but registration is mandatory; the race registration link is on the event page.
In the evening, conductor Frank Strobel leads the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra through film music from Lawrence of Arabia and other Academy Award winners at Oscar Race, in Auditorium 3 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
The Third Local Camel Race continues at Al-Shahaniya Camel Racetrack, west of Doha, and is free to watch. The Doha Players stage Silent Sky, Lauren Gunderson's play about astronomer Henrietta Leavitt, at their Community Theatre in Mesaimeer until 23 October.
If you'd rather stay somewhere cool, Katara Cultural Village's free exhibition on Tunisia's postal history runs until 31 October, and the free Pink Walk carries on at Aspire Park until 24 October.
