The amphitheater alone is worth the visit — a Jean Nouvel design that folds Greek theater proportions into Islamic architectural detailing. Beyond that, Katara functions as its own small town: galleries, a mosque covered in hand-painted tile, restaurants, and a beach, all walkable in an afternoon.
