Hans Zimmer and Mughal-E-Azam headline Friday night, MotoGP and the Arabian Horse Show run through Saturday, and a free boat show, a supercar meet and the new Design Doha Biennale fill the rest of the weekend: what's on in Doha this Friday and Saturday.
The big night out is Hans Zimmer Live in Doha: the composer and his touring ensemble perform music from his film scores in a stadium-scale show at the 974 Stadium Precinct. The same evening, Mughal-E-Azam: The Musical opens at Al Mayassa Theatre, Qatar National Convention Centre, with gates at 6pm and the show starting at 7pm; the stage production of the Indian film classic plays with a live orchestra and period costume, and tickets are on Q-Tickets.
For families, Education City Challenge 2026 fills the morning with trail runs and mountain-bike races from 7am, with categories from mini-kids aged three up to adults; entry is capped at 400 with chip timing and finisher medals. Later in the day, Desert Falls Water & Adventure Park hosts Desi Hungama at Sea Caves Waterpark, a Desi-themed festival day from 10am to 5pm with waterpark access, live music, food and games, plus free shuttles from Villaggio Mall.
Mughal-E-Azam: The Musical plays its second and final performance at Al Mayassa Theatre. Out at Lusail International Circuit, MotoGP's Qatar round continues with practice and qualifying partly run under floodlights, three weeks before Formula 1 races on the same circuit, ahead of Sunday's main race.
Two other competitions run through to Saturday: the Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show, now in its fourth edition, sees owners and breeders present purebred Arabian horses in the Longines Outdoor Arena, in a Category B show that lets horses qualify for higher-ranked international competitions; and the FIP World Cup Padel wraps up at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, where sixteen men's and sixteen women's national teams compete for the title.
Saturday is the last day of the Qatar Boat Show at Old Doha Port, where yacht builders and marine and watersports brands fill the port with boats on the water and gear on show; it's free to walk through without a buying interest. Also free, Msheireb Cars & Coffee brings a two-day meet of high-performance and luxury cars to Barahat Msheireb's public square, courtesy of the Elite Supercars Club.
Design Doha Biennale 2026 has just opened across Fereej Al Asmakh and Msheireb Downtown Doha, with the headline Arab Design Now exhibition showing newly commissioned work from 81 designers alongside more than fifteen further shows; it runs to the end of January, with early-bird tickets through Qatar Museums.
