Banana Island sits just off Doha's coast, but the only way in is a private catamaran — which does more than you'd think to make it feel like a real escape rather than a hotel with a beach view. It's dry, no alcohol anywhere on the resort, and built around activity: a surf pool, an Adventure Park, bowling, mini golf, and 800 metres of shoreline, with rooms running from sea-view standards up to overwater pool villas. The spa bills itself as the only wellness centre of its kind on an island resort in the Middle East, spread through its own botanical gardens.
