Fuwairit Beach Turtle Watching

Fuwairit Beach in the north hosts close to a third of all sea turtle nests recorded in Qatar, so the nesting stretch is fenced off from April through August while eggs incubate, though a separate public beach area beyond the rocks stays open year-round. During the August hatching window, Qatar's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change runs guided turtle-release events where families can watch hatchlings make their way into the sea. Outside hatching season, it's simply a quiet, relatively undeveloped public beach worth the drive north.
