Lamp Bear (Urs Fischer)

Titled Untitled (Lamp Bear), the work is a 23-foot canary-yellow bronze teddy bear cast with its head lodged inside an oversized desk lamp shade, weighing an estimated 18 to 20 tons. Swiss artist Urs Fischer designed it around childhood objects — a stuffed bear and a bedside lamp — and it was acquired at a Christie's New York auction in 2011 before installation in HIA's central concourse as part of the airport's permanent art collection.
