This is a genuine detour — well outside Doha, out past the Zekreet peninsula's limestone formations — but it's one of the few large-scale land-art pieces you can actually drive to in the Gulf. The plates were engineered to stay the same height despite the desert's uneven terrain, which is part of the point once you're standing next to one.
