Al Wakrah, ~17km south of Doha
Al Wakrah Heritage Village
Mud-brick buildings, wind towers, and old wooden boats recreate what a pre-oil Gulf fishing town actually looked like, right on the beach. The adjoining Al Wakra Museum, set in an early-20th-century fort, adds marine-life and local-history exhibits if you want to stay a bit longer.
