Al Wajbah Fort

Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani's victory over Ottoman forces here in 1893 is one of the country's defining historical events, and the fort itself — four watchtowers around a rectangular perimeter with nineteen ground-floor rooms — still stands on the original site, restored with panels and weaponry displays explaining the battle. More of a history-buff detour than a headline attraction, but a meaningful one.
