From toddlers to teenagers, a practical shortlist of Doha's family attractions grouped by age, with the age limits, price ranges and 'bring an adult' rules we list for each.
Doha is easy with children if you plan around the weather. Most of the best family attractions are indoors, in malls, and the outdoor ones work best in winter or in the early morning and evening. Each place below shows the age range and price range from its 25 North listing, and those can change, so check before you book.
Many attractions price per child and let an adult in free or cheaply, which makes the age of your youngest a better guide to the budget than the number of people.
OliOli Doha at Katara is a hands-on play museum aimed at ages 1 to 10 and best suited to younger children. Standard tickets are listed from QAR 135 per child, including one free adult. KidzMondo at Mall of Qatar takes ages 2 to 14, with one free adult per paid toddler or child ticket.
Fun City at City Center Doha has twelve big rides and thirty kiddie rides for ages 2 to 12, paid per ride or by card top-up. 360 Play has branches in several malls for ages 0 to 14.
Kids City Driving School at City Center lets ages 3 to 10 drive mini cars through working traffic lights, and the Al Thuraya Planetarium at Katara is free and best for ages five and up. Angry Birds World at Doha Festival City and Doha Quest with KidZania in Msheireb suit a half day, and InflataPark (ages 3 and up) takes one to two hours.
For a day out, Banana Island is a short boat ride from Doha with an adventure park attached, and Meryal Waterpark in Lusail has 53 slides, though some rides have height limits from 0.91 m to 1.22 m.
Gondolania at Villaggio Mall has a roller coaster, gondola rides and a 4D theatre, and the Gondolania Ice Arena offers 90-minute skating sessions. BOUNCE Trampoline Park at Tawar Mall is the largest in Qatar, though some sessions are restricted to 13 and over.
Escape rooms such as Enigma at Doha Festival City suit ages 8 and up, and Virtuocity has over two hundred gaming stations and VR pods. For something active outdoors, Sand Line Dunes rents quad bikes and dune buggies in the Sealine dunes for ages 8 and up.
Between paid attractions, use the free public spaces: Katara Beach, Al Wakrah Beach, Aspire Park and the Corniche cost nothing, and Al Bidda Park has five kilometres of cycling track. Pack water, shade and a hat from late spring to early autumn.
What is the best indoor attraction for small children in Doha?
OliOli Doha at Katara and KidzMondo at Mall of Qatar are both built for younger children and let an adult in with each paid child ticket. Fun City at City Center and 360 Play are lower-cost options.
Are there free things to do with kids in Doha?
Yes. Katara Beach, Al Wakrah Beach, Aspire Park, the Corniche and the Al Thuraya Planetarium are free. See our guide to free things to do in Doha for more.
Do attractions have height or age limits?
Many do. Meryal Waterpark lists ride height limits, some trampoline sessions are restricted to teenagers, and escape rooms usually start at 8 to 10 years. We show the limit on each listing.
