Qatar-Canada Year of Culture: Sounds of Canada

One of the Qatar-Canada Year of Culture concerts: the QPO, led by Prague Spring competition winner Charles Olivieri-Munroe, works through four pieces by Canadian composers you're unlikely to hear performed in the Gulf otherwise — Morawetz's Carnival Overture, Mercure's Kaleidoscope and Hétu's On the Banks of the Saint-Maurice River, then Morawetz's Symphony No. 2 after the interval. Starts at 7:30pm in QNCC's Auditorium 3. Tickets must be bought online in advance, under-6s aren't admitted, and the orchestra asks for smart-casual dress (no shorts or beachwear).
